The international multidisciplinary exhibition «Made in BRICS & SCO» is a professional platform, that unites manufacturers and suppliers of various goods and services of the BRICS and SCO member countries, as well as countries planning to join these organizations. The exhibition will be held from April 17 to 19, 2024 in Baku Expocenter, Azerbaijan. The organizer is the EXPO Club Plus FZE company, registered in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Together with the Russian company Expo Club LLC.

The BRICS consists of five states: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

The World Bank estimated that the area occupied by the organization’s countries is about 30% of the Earth’s total land area, the number of people living in these countries is more than 40% of the total number in the world, and the total GDP of the organization’s countries exceeded 22% of the indicators in the world economy.

All the countries in the group are united by one global fact — their developing economy. Some experts suggest that other countries whose economic indicators are on the rise will join the BRICS in the future.

After the BRICS summit held in June 2022, Iran and Argentina applied to join the organization. During its presidency since February 2017, China has identified the main task of promoting the BRICS+ format to attract a large number of countries not participating in the organization.

For these purposes, the heads of various non-participating States were previously invited. There is an assumption that such a format will help to form a wide partner network for strong and permanent cooperation.

Since 2015, the Development Bank has been operating in the organization as an alternative to the IMF with its head office in Shanghai with a shareholder capital of $100 billion. This structure provides financing for projects to create, expand and improve infrastructure in the member States of the association.

The plans include the creation of the BRICS Pay payment system for use in the territories of the participating countries.

What is SCO?

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an international organization founded on June 15, 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

 

In June 2017, Astana hosted a historic meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO member States, during which India and Pakistan joined the organization.

Currently, the SCO member states are eight states: India, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Four countries have the status of an observer state in the SCO: Afghanistan, Iran, Mongolia and Belarus. Sri Lanka, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia and Nepal are SCO dialogue partners.

The total territory of the SCO member countries is more than 35 million square kilometers, which is 65% of the territory of Eurasia. The population of the organization’s member countries is about 3.5 billion people, half of the world’s population.
