Russia will soon receive “duty-free eggs” from Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Recently, the price of chicken eggs has soared in Russia. According to Rosstat, eggs rose in price by 15% in November compared to October. And for the whole year, the cost increased by 36%.

On November 19, the first batch of eggs from Azerbaijan was imported to Russia — more than 600 thousand pieces, and eggs are also planned to be imported from Turkey. This was reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor.

Experts note that eggs from Azerbaijan and Turkey will be no cheaper than local ones — about 120-130 rubles per dozen. The transport component also affects, as well as the exchange rate. But imported shipments should bring down the price increase, as well as meet demand.

The import of eggs will be carried out with sampling for the content of harmful and prohibited substances within the framework of state monitoring.
